Being that my ute is a dark blue I use autoglym products. Expensive but worth it.

Meguiars Tech Wax is very good but $50 for a bottle, but does go a long way.

if its got alot of surface scratches you are better off to get it profesionally buffed by someone like final touch or any of the mobile touch up guys as doin by hand will never get the scratches out well enough -we get our yard cars done alot -cost around about $200-$300 depending on how bad it is plus they can usually touch up the chips etc to -once that is done then you can maintain it easier by hand with polish products & a good wash n wax car wash
