i have a toyota townace 1993 which the speedometer is bouncing between 0-140ks woohoo and sometimes doesn't go at all and sometimes works fine. Was told it is more likely the speedo sensor. What would be the cost of having it repaired, roughly!

You might be best to get a second hand cluster and fit that. Cost wise I would think it would be cheaper than a repair.

I,d say you have a problem with the cable like its been bent or kinked and as the inner cable spins it has tight an free spinning behaviour, so sends a pulsing eratic drive to speedo , or the mounting to g/box is a little gear and is stuffed, about to seize .
