Heya, can someone please give me an idea of what it costs to have modifications certified!I'm talking seats and belts mainly, but will also get racing wheel, mags and body kit done at same time :)

Out of those modifications, what ones require certification!

Seat and belts if the mounting points have been changed. The steering wheel if by racing he/she means detachable boss or the air bags is no longer compliment so an after market wheel can be fitted. theres a few.

As for cost depends on where you go. It dosn't matter how many mods you have done the fee is a flat fee normally round the $450 mark

Ouch!Yep, seats and belts are the main ones, putting prelude buckets and retractables in a classic mini

no change to steering column, just boss kit, and putting 12" mags instead of the 10's

Whether or not a mod needs a cert, when you go for a cert for something that does they will put every mod on the cert plate even if its not required.so I've heard (and seen on some cars).

Correct - the modifications do not get certed as such, the car gets certed. They'll go over the lot cause even if you just change one thing, they need to check it works with the rest of the car.

Thanks Pete, had a word with him today, bloody lot of money for a couple of minor alterations!
