Tested Cam timing and ign timing! tested to see if the Cam angle sensor is working ( if it has one ), I know some electric ign vehicles have a pickup on the main pully of the crank and if the key has broken and the pully shifted the timing would be all over the place, Just a few other cents I can put in

I don't know these particular motors, but a crank angle sensor will trigger the spark with a broken cam drive.
There is no mention of compression in the original post - hence my thoughts wrt valves opening and closing

check at night because they are known for the high tension leads shorting out on a rubber hose. sounds funny but true.

how funny that there are 3 in my area in workshops that wont go
have found so much info via american sites regarding these have done many test, suddenly now the fuel [pump is working, also had no fuel, now removing cap/rotor which are stuffed, tip of rotor has gone : )
must say in all my years by far the worst vehicle to work on ever

Just a thought, if you are having random fuel pump/fuel issues and it smells rich don't forget to check the fuel regulator and fuel solenoid as well. Smelling rich can of course be the fuel pressure regulator not doing its thing, of course a fuel pressure test will sort that.
Have fun!

Or the coolant temp sensor (if it has one, lol) has failed telling the ECU the engine is cold all the time so richen up until warmer. Yep, one of the biggest POS ever imported in NZ via Japan.genuine oddball model!
