This has got the works & I love the clock tower.

gunhand, Apr 27, 5:16pm
I used to help mass produce these sorts of things years and years back. Also made several hundred BP Coloured promo garages for BP. They were a very simple one though. wonder if any still excist.

thejazzpianoma, Apr 27, 5:17pm
Not sure if the place still exists but Purple Patch craft shop in Tauranga used to sell some great ones made by retired type wood workers.

johnf_456, Apr 27, 5:33pm
I have one somewhere from my childhood in storage, they were awesome to play with as a kid.

xacoon, Apr 27, 5:37pm
wooden toys are back in demand again. might be worth running a few up!

gunhand, Apr 27, 5:40pm
Hmmm Yea!I have free time these days to. There really easy to make.
Dont have a table saw anymore but there cheap these days.

ginga4lyfe, Apr 27, 5:45pm
Wood toys are the best! Make some Wood Trains with basic carving in them and some Stations and cars and stuff, and that WILL sell on TM! Another thing that is hard to come by these days is those little plastic soldiers and plastic tanks and sandbags and stuff, the fun i used to have with them was priceless

gunhand, Apr 27, 5:47pm
Aaaa plastic soldiers, many of mine were hung, beheaded or meet a firey death .They were the bad guys after all.

johnf_456, Apr 27, 5:48pm
+1 old times, considering the soldiers were 2 bucks for a bag of them it lasted so long for entertainment. From driving radio control cars over to them to using target practice.

xacoon, Apr 27, 5:49pm
check out the price of wooden toys, they are popular but expensive. I could drop a couple of oaks and start doing my own. hmmm

daryl14, Apr 27, 5:54pm
Having a little boy to build for is cool too. We've kicked off our school holidays with a ride-on crane which will be built fully out of old pallet wood and with only basic shed tools.

gunhand, Apr 27, 5:55pm
The carpet was land the lino water and the mat in front of the kitchen sink an Island.
Hours of harmless creative fun. No xbox in my day but Tank and tennis came about and was all down hill from there,

xacoon, Apr 27, 5:58pm
I lived in the age of sega, but it was only the rich townies that could afford a master system. much more fun damming creeks anyway

gunhand, Apr 27, 6:07pm
Tadpoleing, riding down huge dirt piles on corragated iron, clod fights amongst the dead tress, building forts, digging piontless holes, playing in the gourse and so on. And this was in town. Oh and putting stones on the tracks to derail trains. never worked dam it.

xacoon, Apr 27, 6:10pm
digging pointless holes was always a favourite. wool sack towed behind the motorbike was always good for a laugh too

xacoon, Apr 27, 6:44pm
so as an 8 or 9 year old what other interests would you be persuing!

nickolaz, Apr 27, 7:08pm
I have a BP one that my Grandfather made, it's pretty awesome.

gunhand, Apr 27, 7:35pm
GOOD GRIEF why was Paps comment removed! Must be the over 60 moderators on tonight

trogedon, Apr 28, 6:59am
Re the toy making = do it. I built a sandpit for our boys a couple of years ago (2m x 1.5m & ¾ m sand ??

skyline_guy_r34, Apr 28, 8:18am
I had one of those. BP colours. didnt have the building on the second story just like a big parking area. and also cant remember clearly but I dont think it had the petrol pumps on it either.

_peas, Apr 28, 2:57pm
I had one as well. Was the "centrepiece" of our matchbox collection despite the fuel pumps towering over the cars!

crzyhrse, Apr 28, 3:12pm
Yeah. I could stand to lose a few (hundred) pounds.

tractor9, Apr 28, 8:30pm
What about Commando comics ! Achtung ! Spitfuer ! Himmel, I am hit ! AARRGH !brilliant.

big.b-lil.c, Apr 29, 9:59am
i had some sort of service station, the memory is foggy its most likely stored under mums house. some of my toy soldiers became astronaut's with a bit of help from a sky rocket or two, many ended there soldiering days by being blown up by double happy's.
