That was interesting, he really put the cop on the spot. I also believe that if the cop is acting on behalf of the law they should know the relevant laws inside out.

bigracket, May 15, 4:30pm
I reckon, goes to show its worth knowing your rights aye

johnf_456, May 15, 5:02pm
biker is not here, hes banned

morrisman1, May 15, 5:03pm
Biker wasnt a Pom was he!

bigracket, May 15, 5:04pm
Well Dun dun dun. Thanks John.

johnf_456, May 15, 5:05pm
Yup well why have a thread then dun dun dun and not everyone knows hes banned. dun dun dun Thanks racket.

henderson_guy, May 15, 5:05pm
Surely you aren't that naive!

johnf_456, May 15, 5:06pm
See above dun dun dun

dr.doolittle, May 15, 5:07pm
Did any of you bother to read the comments that were posted!
The cyclist was an arrogant twot in my view & deserved to be fined.
Did he, or did he not run the red light!
Other than that he was just a smart arse.

bigracket, May 15, 5:08pm
MM no idea, but I would imagine him winning an argument with a cop like that.

henderson_guy, May 15, 5:09pm
I guess you ARE that naive.

johnf_456, May 15, 5:10pm
Well if hes banned whats the point in dedicating threads to him :P Now how naive are you

bigracket, May 15, 5:11pm
Dr D, I would hope our cops know the law better than that bobby though huh!

bigracket, May 15, 5:13pm
Concrete operational much John!

henderson_guy, May 15, 5:15pm
Allow me to spell it out for you. Biker has said HIMSELF that he has multiple accounts upon multiple accounts. He may not be here as biker_69, but believe me, he will be watching you

dr.doolittle, May 15, 5:16pm
Yeah but we're all human. No-one likes dealing with a smart aleck in their job do they.

johnf_456, May 15, 5:16pm
I have yet to someone that posts like him, but am I not allowed to say hes banned. Really don't see whats wrong with saying hes banned which he is, some people would not even know the ones that lurk but very rarely post would even know hes banned. But really nothing wrong with mentioning and getting crap for it because oh lets give johnf_456 flack again.

pollymay, May 15, 5:20pm
They were both arrogant. Pig headed cop vs smart ass.

bigracket, May 15, 5:20pm
So you would accept that you would potentially be put under arrest by someone who doesn't really even know the law !

dr.doolittle, May 15, 5:24pm
If I'd broken the law & I knew it, then yes (have to catch me first). If they had the authority to issue me with a ticket, I'd accept it.
Lets remember here, the policeman was only going to issue a ticket. Not arrest anyone (not initially anyway).

pollymay, May 15, 5:26pm
To be honest yes. Back in the day when the town drunk got on the turps and started kicking signs no one asked questions just BANG BANG into the cells for the night. Modern policing is too stupid to figure out things given power though. Although in this case it didn't warrant it so the cop should just shut up and the guy should as well, get lost or get a crack with the nightstick, simple.

bigracket, May 15, 5:32pm
Thats really interesting, not sure myself though. If someone has the power to arrest me (lock me in jail) I would expect them to know the law inside out and backwards. surly they use these laws every day !

pollymay, May 15, 5:34pm
Actually I'd expect them to have common sense. The law can be used in almost any way you want, ask a good lawyer. Too much fluffing about with "rights" as it is, but that is probably cause common sense is not so common. On both sides

icemans1, May 15, 5:35pm
biker banned, when was that!
