fuel filler pipe on my Honda Odyssey. Has any one else had this problem.!. The old one had rust on it and wouldn't have passed the warrant.

Ignore them filly, they're just taking the piss.I would have to say thats a bit of an unusual problem to occur, regardless of the age of the car. Is there rust on any other parts of the underside of the car!

no, no other rust. even the mechanic was astounded at the extent of the rust on this.anyway got a second hand one from a wrecker friend who painted it up and rust proofed it then got the mechanic to fit it. 45 bucks for the part and 135 bucks to fit it as the rear suspention etc had to be taken off.

Hmm still a bit weird, parts like that normally have an anodised finish which stops rust, well most of the time anyway.Its kind of like a cheap form of galvanising.
