Eeeew.

morrisman1, May 4, 2:09pm
beauty, Ive got a soft spot for Jags. I wouldnt want to have to fix one of those v12 engines I can imagine they are a prick to work on.

woody1946, May 4, 2:14pm
good point, but I would imagine that with such a low mileage it would be a while before you would need to do anything, after all, it would probably only be a Sunday driver

joanie32, May 4, 2:47pm
lovely car.

ct9a, May 4, 3:04pm
nice engine bay

sw20, May 4, 5:53pm
At least two Sundays worth until it needed an overhaul.

200sx, May 4, 7:06pm
Beautiful example.

I'd love the chance (and the budget!) to strip down and rebuild with a few "tweaks". Magnificent motors.

grangies, May 4, 7:44pm
Mint.

I'd hate to have to sell that.

The Jag V12 was developed in house (nothing to do with RR) over a couple of decades, at one stage it had 4 cams and was destined for Le Mans! I think it first appeared in the 71 E Type but I'm by no means an authority on the subject.

tshop, May 4, 9:08pm
Average of 2050 kms per year since new it must be hungry.

foxdonut, May 4, 9:18pm
Y'all crazy. thats a DD right there, he's driven it daily for twenty years back and forth to the mechanic.

Seriously though, nice car, but overpriced.

There was a TWR t-turbo for sale in NSW when I was over there a while backm making something mad like 700 horse, it had a big spoiler arrangement on the arse too, would have been a fantastic weekend racer.

stevo2, May 5, 4:09am
Very nice.

hutchk, May 5, 4:45am
It's the world's only 8 cylinder XJS!

morrisman1, May 5, 2:41pm
Probably not, im sure plenty have put chev small blocks in there to fix some of the complexity issues the v12 is said to have

mantagsi, May 5, 8:06pm
The actual engine itself isnt too bad, it is just all the evil lucas stuff attached around the outside. If you had the time and patience to update it (if you werent too concerned about originality) you might be able to get better economy, power and reliability, and finally be able to pay off the second mortgage you got to pay your mechanics bill.
