Reckon the government will increase the 70c per km recommendationfor reimbursable costs, relating to employee mileage claims!

I figured out that for 1 gallon with our high dollar value we should be buying 3.8 liters for about 5 dollars, instead we are paying 8 dollars, as the usa is paying 4.02 on average for one gallon and 4.02 is worth 5.07 in nzd, and 1 gallon is 3.8 liters, which should mean we should be paying nearer to 1.33 a liter!, now i dunno if this is right but they pay there fuel tax at the pump just like we do( except for diesel ) so, WHY is it soo dare here!!

Oh cos we saving the world with our 'Green" policy ! Oh or national need more money! Im undecided.

Green policys do NOTHING only increase money being handed up and "dissapearing" no amount of money or penalties are going to fix anything that is apparently happening, you cant fix ozone holes with dollar bills just as much as you cant burn off excess carbon in the atmosphere with the paper of the money, its all just a massive scaremongering scam for the rich to become richer
Ps its soo funny how the "greenies" are against new oil rigs going up and about "global warming" when they ae causing alot of it and not contributing to the nation by bumming around and making other peoples life a hassle, by either floating about in the sea using fuels to scoot them around of by stopping production by chaining themselves to something at a farm, all they do is cost money and then they have the nerve to want to legalize weed while preaching that we need to eat healthyer! talk about shooting urself in the foot and plugging the hole with rabbit crap. Now, i dont mind the ones who actually look into making things better( like increasing efficiency in electric items and increasing efficiency in combustion engines ), but stopping some one doing something with out showing how else it can be done more efficiently . thats just stupid ( Rant over )

Im on your side of this one ginga, that's for real, Is global warming happening-YIP without a doubt. Can money fix it- Hell no. Any excuse to collect money though aye.

well im a bit 2 sided as to wether global warming is man kind made or not, as its been said here before 1 volcano can do all the harm to the world that we have done to it plus 40 times over in one blow out, yet we recover, with no massive effects to us, sure we have had some rough weather but like hell you wouldnt expect it not to get rough once in a while, infact its been proven that this sort of weather pattern does happen, so why panic about it!Rather just prepare yourself for a longer colder winter or longer hotter summer, thats all you can do, the Planet will fix itself, just liek it has in the past

I not so sure "the planet will fix itself" I am no greenie but, Its not going to fix itself. Money wont fix it either though.

What needs fixing!.mother natures done a perfect job at retaining an equal balance amongst all living things with the food chain, eat or be eaten and only the strong survive.hell! us clever humans will run and beat every inch of this planet to ground and still survive.survive alone.

I like to think of myself as green, but agree with ginga, the majority are absolute idiots and do more harm than good. planet aint gunna fix itself but trying to get everyone to take a complete change of tack isn't going to happen. a few extremists arent going to do much, everyone making a small effort has a larger effect than what these zealots cause. I drink out of crates and flagons. I'm doing my part.

ya want a laugh ginga, look for a poster dafing in farming and environment. self confessed legend in his own lunchtime time wasting greenie, oh so much fun to abuse.

about time the NZGOVT revised how much tax is in our petrol. something like 60% I believe. Correct me if thats wrong, but it is phenomenally high anyway. It just makes you feel so small and insignificant, oil companys are taking us for a ride and there is f@ck all we can do about it. It is just demoralising, and frustrating.

oh how generous it was for the government to postpone their fuel tax increase till next year. it's not like they are getting 7c more in GST per litre compared to this time last year.
I just read on the AA site while finding out the price of 91 this time last year that we pay 8.8c tax on taxes, i.e. thats the GST they charge you on the 59c per litre taxes. Thieving mongrels, the worst thing is we let them get away with it

I'll correct myself there because GST was only 12.5% this time last year so the difference is 11.6 cents more in gst alone, between this time last year and now.
