Back fire

hey guys i need a hand. when i rev my car and let the throttle go it back fires and shoots a cloud of black smoke out the exhaust. what does this mean!

Probably just hasn't figured out what the other lever next to the hand throttle does.

Can be several things, state the model and motor, carb or efi.

My turbo does it with everything sweet as it's just unburnt fuel hitting the exhaust on let off. My V6 does it for the same reason and a short exhaust. The line going to the fuel pressure regulator can be split, the timing can be retarded, cam timing out, coolant temp sensor out dumping fuel, knock sensor cutting timing.on and on the list goes
