Train ya staff so they have at least some knowledge.Took a car to them the battery was stuffed the tested it and said its ok but yet car would not start. Then they said it needs charging.I had just checked the batt before I drove down there it was stuffed. The batt was under warranty thats the only reason I went there.

I had the same problem with Appco last year. Even though I had a printed battery report from the AA saying it was stuffed. I just about put the battery through their front window

They are retail staff hired off the street and paid accordingly, not trained automotive technical consultants.Nuff said.

Some of the staff in some stores have plenty of knowladge. There wont be to many mechanics working there as thy can earn 3 times as much doing there trade, assuming they were any good of course. Theres always two side to any story andsome of the mechanics who go in to these places also wouldnt know is arse from his hand. SOME of them are the most unhelpfull aholes about and the first to moan when something isnt right even though they had know idea of the year or model of car they wanted a part for. They of all people should realise there can be 4 or 5 parts (the same but diff) for one car in a year and the corret model codes are important.

That is a good point about the parts gunhand that is a very annoying problem even when the numbers match up sometimes.

The policy at Repco is to replace the battery even if it tests good on the battery tester they use if the customer objects. The staff member who wouldn't replace the battery for you needs to be re-trained on their companys policy.
