Not really news is it.When you dole out drivers licences in weetbix packets for decades to sheep with no formal driver training who would rather not be driving at all and instead using public transport if it was cheap and flexible enough to meet their needs, and then employ obsessive govt departments like NZTA/Police to sting said sheep if they dare to go 5kph above posted limits then thats what you get.It's all about not tackling the REAL issues like attitude, skill, courtesy and driving to conditions and focussing solely on speed and alcohol as the only driving sins.It ain't the case.

a keyboard ovation for putting it so well. unfortunately there are some even on this mb that think licence tests are hard enough as it is. and you do realise the only reason speed and alcohol are cracked down on so hard is that its too hard to collect revenue off fatigue and bad driving attitude.
