They work fine,not sure about the bolt on horse power but for noise control on Harleys they work great and very easy to tune.i put one on mine after being busted for noise and loosing my licence.there is not much out their to get the noise down a bit and still have performance .my bike has 97 hp on the dyno and had Vance & Hines pipes which i really liked but the Cop here gave me heaps,hence the Supertrapp.no more problems

They will help with HP,but won't gain you heaps.The main thing is,you can't go wrong,it's not going to hurt HP like some mufflers that sound great,but drop HP.By changing discs you can dial it in to where you want.A quiet core can adjust noise,the race core not so much - I have 6 discs in my IDS2 race core,which is just a little more open than a standard muffler,but it has 97Db,right on the limit.
