Just thought id ask.

Is there any way of starting the car if it has a flat battery, the battery is in the boot and there is no way of getting to it (got hit from the rear and has jammed the boot lock so it won't budge)!

Kept it in the garage but have neglected to start it now and then (my bad)

Cheers.

Oh hang on just another question. Will it work if it has an immobiliser (even if you disarm it)!

connect a charger to the alternator output or starter motor positive and the block for the negative

antz91, Apr 28, 3:41pm
Might sound silly but is that safe!

Nothing a hammer will not fix, if that fail get a bigger hammer!

crzyhrse, Apr 28, 5:22pm
They need to be connected to the starter lead terminal at either the starter or battery end, unlike the charger as described above.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't look at the link and just assumed you mean the bigger units with the jumper leads that are supposed to be used on the battery terminals.

Does anyone have any experience with the ones in that link!

seems a bit dodgy to me. The amount of current required to start a car can't be good going through the cigarette lighter wiring.

The car will have jump terminals in the engine bay, most likely.

gammelvind, Apr 28, 5:53pm
This would charge the battery, not start the car. Then when charged you start the car, drive it to a panelbeater and get it fixed.

Humour at last john, well done
Tell you what, you hold the boot lid, I'll get the big hammer and when you nod your head, I'll hit it, OK (o:

If the boot is the factory location for the battery then factory jump terminals in the engine bay is very likely

Aren't we funny

get a drill and dill a hole in the boot lid then jigsaw a bigger hole. access to battery. sounds like the bootlid is naffed anyway
