What does this statement mean? Or am i missing som

milwaukee are "less" reliable than makita as parts are harder to get (or they were when i was repairing them). makita have an office in northshore (i think) that has just about every part in stock. milwaukee are very very good and robust tools and dont tend to break as easy as makita

I think they either mean: "If you are thinking of buying Makita tools and don't already have any, please consider Milwaukee as they are far more reliable in our opinion", or "If you are thinking of buying Milwaukee tools and don't already have any, please consider Milwaukee as they are far more reliable in our opinion" - probably the former.

its odd that they are talking down their own stock

bigracket, Apr 26, 4:56pm
Huh ! They are telling you not to buy their product, and to buy another brand! Something wrong with this picture.

bigracket, Apr 26, 4:57pm
Maybe Engrish is the second !

gunhand, Apr 26, 4:58pm
Yea but its a Milwaukee auction, you wouldnt promote another brand sayings its better. Got to be a typo. Surely.

jezz43, Apr 26, 4:59pm
it would have to be a typo, it a company rep saw it, they would lose the product brand

jmma, Apr 26, 5:14pm
They are right though, Makita is a good drill

smac, Apr 26, 6:46pm
Which is it!

jezz43, Apr 26, 6:50pm
more parts availability, less down time waiting for tools to be fixed. milwaukee are much more reliable, but take longer to be fixed if part isnt in stock. i used to sell both brands, only ever saw 1 milwaukee tool come back for repair in 3 years. had makitas in every 2-3 months

saxman99, Apr 27, 6:25am
Perhaps they mean "compare" not "consider". !

crzyhrse, Apr 27, 8:10am
Could that not simply be due to the shear numbers of Makita tools in use here since they've been sold for many years!

bitsy_boffin, Apr 27, 8:34am
I don't think it's a typo, the seller also sells Makita.Clearly they are recommending people buy their Makita products instead of their Milwaukee products.I imagine the makita profit is higher :-)

I would rather both brands than bosch. Have to very expensivebosch tools both have crapped out and fd me off.

morrisman1, Apr 27, 9:07am
makita have produced some crap lately in their cordless drill department. Li-ion batteries without protection screw out, gearboxes falling to bits. Id buy a bosch any day or hitachi if they didn't fall to bits when you drop them.

jason18, Apr 27, 10:29am
bosch to me I bought a jigsaw cordless 18v Not cheap and motor has died after about ten uses!

pollymay, Apr 27, 11:00am
I just have a black and decker drill. When I was looking for one a guy that builds alloy boats told me to get it cause it had the basic thing I'd need at a reasonable price. 18V with variable speed controller plus it came with some really nice drillbits in a package deal.

I love hitachi though, a lot of their tools are the only ones that can put up with a constant beating, especially their dropsaws

jezz43, Apr 27, 3:04pm
go buy the 12v festool induction drill, guaranteed for anything for 3 years. best drill ever hands down.

bosch are junk, there are 2 colors in the bosch range, green is for DIYers or home handy men, and blue is meant to be industrial grade. to be perfectly honest, they both suck big time.

We have a vast selection of the Makita 18v Lithium cordless tools at work. well over 30 tools (obvously a few of some) and the only problem we have had is a couple of the batteries haven't held charge after about 12 months. Both replaced that week by the rep under warranty. These tools get grief, dropped, used for dubious purposes and generally not amazingly looked after but I can't fault them.I have the impact driver, hammer drill (with the metal gearbox), jigsaw, skilsaw, sabresaw and torch (for what its worth). No problems in the 3 - 1/2 years of ownership besides the one battery mentioned earlier.
