I'm going to take a guess and say you're not too sharp on detecting sarcasm. Try again, but in English this time, Dazza. Oh, and say 'Hi' to Shazza from me.

If you're keen on cars and on a small budget get involved in motorsport. There are many armature teams out there who are after volunteers for their service crews. It??

Are these your toys on the ground here beside the cot! What's the matter - you can dish it out but can't take it when it's returned!
Poor little diddums!
I'd still like an answer to my question regarding where I mentioned age. I doubt I'll get it though because it's clearly just in your head.

We seem to have drifted off the topic!
Having stripped my project in September 2004, had it dip stripped and converted to a colander to expose what needed doing, then after Christmas, left the bare shell with a noted company and had allocated a certain amount of cash to get the basics done. At the end of the year he had only managed 40 hours worth of work.So after 18 months, apart from a hole in the bulkhead and 5/6 of the panelwork done by an outside contractor, plus a little work on the suspension and a roll cage, it was still a bare shell!
Now here we are , almost 7 years since purchase, and finally bolting stuff into the painted shell.
Some bills were expected to be large (painting) and some were much larger than expected - front suspension (from scratch) and the purchase and fitting up of the braking system.Having to pay for reconditioning of an engine that was assembled (read, thrown together.) and run for just 25kms, wasn't a budgeted item either.
Spreading the cost over such a period means that the annual cost isn't so bad, but I could have bought a running fixed head E type Jaguar for what I spent!
I don't begrudge the cost but I now know several areas where I could have saved thousands - but then it is not simply a restoration either.
Restorations are rarely worth the money and when you build a project car, you don't normally expect to make money on it.
Funding!Put me down as a total non smoker or gambler and extremely light drinker too.Having sweated to pay off the mortgage early, that made all the difference to cashflow.Whatever you currently spend on a mortgage or rent, assume that a third of that is yours to spend as you please, a third for the boss and a third for travel or savings.

find something "cheap" to do while you save for the next part. e.g. a box of wet and dry sand paper doesnt cost all that much and will keep you busy for a while, while you fund the paint
