SparkPlug Gap

Hi, I have a 90 Subaru Legacy sedan(non turbo.)
I took the plugs out to clean them and found that the gap was .042 th of an inch.
To my way of thinking this seems way to wide.
What do you think!

should normally be 1.1 Mm for newer cars ( apparently , and as such in your case )

Had a look through Auto data, and you should be at 0.8 mm

I would go with anywhere between 0.7 and 1.0 mm.

having said all that places who sell sparkplugs can tell you what it needs to be usually they dont need to be changed as they are set to what most cars need from factory . especially the ones with 4 electrodes cant be set they are one off setting and thats what i usually fit to my petrol cars NGK -irridium. 75000km change intervall

you dont mess with the gap on these.
