If the car is already equipped with a stereo/cd player, and it's an easily-removable standard DIN-slot sized one, AND the stereo plugs into the car through a standard harness that hooks up all dozen or so wires through one big plastic plug, then removing the old one and plugging a new one straight in should take about 10 minutes.
If the car is old and you are installing a new CD stereo where there was something archaic before, and you have to manually identify and connect each speaker wire from the stereo to its associated speaker wire in the dash, that could end up taking a coupla hours by the time you've got everything done.
If the car is a recent model Corolla where the existing stereo is not a standard slot-sized one but an integral part of the fascia, then removing that, converting the dashboard to take a standard-sized stereo and then installing one of those in it could be a helluva big job too.

Depends on whether you want a quick rough install or a professional job !

Oh, ok. The car is a 2000 and only has the shop stereo in it. So I understand the issue now. Thanks guys.

It's about a 10-15 minute job tops.
Unless you are also putting in speakers, etc. Then it's a bit longer.
