Watched a 1200hp quad rotor turbo boat at the jet sprint nationals yesterday, Was definitely something cool and different, not too keen on the sound of it though. I wish I remembered what class he was racing in.
I thought so too, but i dont think it was running alcohol, and it was running around 54 second laps. The group A winner was mid 52 and i think the super winner got a high 51. He came out of the water a few times so only completed a couple of timed runs.
Not that i am an expert. Just an arm chair fan of anything powered by fossell fuels. But I noticed the Group A's are faster than Superboats on some tracks. (Group A being small blocks etc etc).

Yeah Im hardly an expert either, we just got an invite to come along for the day out with team Glass Pro (who won the Group A national title) and just learned bits and peices talking with the drivers. Awesome sport, hell of a lot more interesting than drag racing
