They were are good work horse,spent many hours fixing them,easy to work on.

Had a J1 about 20 years ago & it just gobbled gas, used about half that once I put a 350 chev into it. Fun truck though, not many get in your way when you chain a railway sleeper across the front bumper. Surprising how much bigger the J1 was when I got to park beside a JO

We had J1's - they were 3.5 ton rated with a GVW of about 4 tons! Underpowered with a 3.5L 6cyl. Dreadful brakes! We got our money's worth out of them though!
I know I want one. Dad was a dirty grimey towie in the seventies.
