Obviously you guys don't know how rare this car is.

Yea, but you see those around quite a lot. This one is nearly as rare as hen's teeth. You'd never find another XC made in 1981!

the one i'm picking up tomorrow is rarer, a sundowner with a small bubble window in the rear, and it drives and it is cheaper than that.

certainly an unusual beast, it does stand out being T bar auto, having that particular instrument layout (Fairmont GXL!) and having the drop gate and hatch instead of the barn doors, all of which appears to be factory. It would be good to get a better look at the chassis plates to see what the option codes were.I guess time will tell whether the price is right or not.

my mate came to his senses and realisted $2500 was too cheap, I'm now paying $3500 but he is now leaving on the good 12 slotters with new eagers and throwing in an alloy manifold and near new holley avenger carb. I may have a buyer for the mags for $1000 so im better off. Life is good, now if only Winterbottom can clean up in Hamilton then it will be a great day.

Well, not unless it left Australia in '79 & got here in "81. Australians are slow but i don't think they're that slow.
