Quote "So, my boyfriend bought a '96 Cherokee (XJ) SE, for way too much, like around $3,000. It broke down and he has put another $2,500 in it and totally rebuilt the engine and did a lot of after market work on it. He has and will do all the labor himself, he refuses to pay for labor. Now, he finds out that the motor needs to be taken back out and fixed again and is looking at another $700. I said he should just sell it and wipe his hands clean, he says he won't make enough.

Firstly, what is your guys' opinion on what he should do! Secondly, how much do you think he could make parting it versus just the whole car as is!

Thanks for your guys' opinions!"

Thanks purplegoanna that was a great and very funny read!

BTW, makes me appreciate Mrs Jazz. She didn't even know me a month and the Corolla had been traded in on the Alfa Spider. She holds doors while I bolt them on, dosn't mind when we spend money on expensive tools, will drive anything and enjoys club events etc.

She has even requested we get her an engine to dissasemble so she can understand more. AND she cooks!

Just need to fill the seats in a Multipla with little Jazz's

townie55, Apr 17, 4:04pm
Good on you Jazz.Mrs townie drives a POS Legnum, 233k's, dents likes a golf ball, radio doesn't go, belt squeaks like a bastard.Have been looking at getting her an upgrade. That was until I found a "cheap" classic for myself for $20k.Can I buy it!Sure. And she paid for most of it.Was she a good catch!Hell yeah!

trogedon, Apr 17, 6:37pm
Mrs Trog's first car was an Anglia and second çar was a Chev ute (in Peru).

thejazzpianoma, Apr 17, 6:48pm
LOL, thanks for that. not sure about having that many. still trying to work out the best way to get a baby seat in the Alfa.

thejazzpianoma, Apr 17, 6:52pm
I hear you. Mrs Jazz used to have the much abused Mercedes (bought site unseen and ripped off) LHD, manual, diesel W123 with various cantankerous habbits and a lever to turn it off.
The Alfa is LHD as well but she swaps back and fourth like a pro.

Tis a great woman you got understanding about classics and priorities. top work that man!
