Hi.I own a Nissan Primera and it is 1996 too.My car has been very reliable, and the mileage is higher than that car you're looking at.I think mine will go easily to 300,000 if looked after.
The motor is very reliable.My father owned it before me and it has never been a problem.It is reasonably economical, but obviously a smaller car like a toyota corolla is even better.But it is a good car.

My mileage is 218 about.No sign of any trouble with motor.No rust either in body.

You need to watch out for the auto trans in any car with that sort of mileage.
