Been driving around a bit more now after the quake, using the L plates and abiding by the law. However, it seems everytime I go for a drive and have them up, I nearly always have some tosser on my tail far too close.
Why are people such dicks! I could almost guarantee if I had to put the brakes on suddenly and they ended up in the back of my car I'd be the one getting the blame for it.

You wouldn't get the blame, they'd get the blame for failing to stop short. And get ticketed for it.

I feel for you, #1! While my wife was learning to drive, I would leave the learner plates on, but like you say there's a % out there determined to show you how expert they are. Just to be clear; if you suddenly hit the brakes as hard as you can and someone runs into you.they are at fault (no exeptions) Hence the two seconds rule etc. and Italian drivers who never use the rear view mirror! PS I love that clip, compchick!

If you are toddling along at 41km/h for no real reason on a wide, straight road, people get impatient with that.
That is no excuse for them to get right up your arse though!

i often drive the car we bought for my daughter with the l plates on and have never had that problem. but then even from behind anyone can tell im a big sob my head touches the roof in the 406pug and my shoulders are past both sides of the seat. i would not throw anything at another car and risk a crash involving a innocent or perhaps a road rage relational. ya never know who is driving the other car it could be a p fried psycho with a machete.
