air leak at carb!

r15, Apr 13, 5:00pm
$1 reserve and buy something japanese.

or, check for air leaks between the carb and cylinder/ head- eg the intake rubber boot, or the connection from the carb to boot and the cylinder/ head to the boot

cheap fun when they break down and your always trying to fix them!

They're fine in the hands of someone with a bit of nous, easier to keep going than the BSAs and Velocettes I used to muck around with as a kid. OP's one sounds like a dirty carbie.
Our grandson had one and he had a ball on it once a few things were sorted.

blocked main jet. clean it out with compressed air.

Not to mention finding parts, yeah some things can be fixed but finding the most simplest part. I have personally being there done that and parts for these things are hard.

Just because you have good runs on chinese motor powered equipment does not mean others have had the same. I have no problem with other chinese stuff just the bikes etc are not as good as the good old japanese bikes which spare parts are a brisk to get parts for.

Myself and others I know have had nothing but issues especially tryiing to fix things beyond fixing like metal fatgiue and cracking because of the poor build quality. They are cheap for a reason, just because you have had a good run does not mean every man and his dog has either. I simply posted on my own personal experience and from what people tell me so it is not a lack of intellect as you claim.

with one jap bike wrecker here in chch, I would hardly say its easy to get jap spare parts either.
