Will be putting trans cooler in prob this weekend. Have identified top pipe coming out of radiator as being trans return pipe (i think anyway).
Couple of questions, will the trans or pipe get an air lock in it from when i cut the pipe and pipe in the trans cooler! Also is it easy to screw the pipe off at the radiator or will i make a mess/or is it not possible (i see a fitting that looks like i can undo it).
Cheers

Oh and also, how do i topup the trans! I cant find a dipstick for the trans so cant trickle it in there. I see theres a plug on the top/side of the trans do I just fill up in there until it overflows out the hole! Or is there another way!

I would drop the pan and do the filter at the same time. There is no dipstick on the AU which is a pain in the arse, have to fill it up on the rhs right next to the exhaust. You wont get an air lock, use a proper pipe cutter not a hacksaw to prevent any shit getting down the pipe. I never bothered to plug up the oil inlet/outlet on the radiator, spilt a bit at first then no worries.

why on earth would you cut a pipe! there is one in and one out of the radiator for trans fluid you could just use the out and feed it with a hose to the secound cooler then back to transmission. its all rubber hoses on any automatic i serviced so far. and as per above service the trans. you flush em with hose off cooler till fresh fluid comes after servicing .

They run steel lines to/from the g.box and radiator.
