i replaced the steering rack boot on drivers side as it was pissing out. topped fluid up and turned steering wheel with wheels on the ground and the other boot split and started pissing out. anyone got any advice on how to fix

Yep, you need a another steering rack or get the one you have overhauled, one or more of the internal seals has let go. $$$$$ and a couple more $ for a wheel alignment afterwards.
