Can anyone tell me about the theory test for HT Class 2, please! Are they all multi-choice questions! Are the online sites (eg DT) for questions the REAL questions, or will I get an unpleasant surprise when going to the AA! I can't find an AA site for HT questions. Is there one! Any tips will be very much appreciated. Thanks kindly.

get the book and read it the questions are in the back and yes there are some sites with the questions in them

AA next to useless use a truck driving school, plenty around , various ways of doing it youll pass easy doing it that way.i did i never use AA for anything. ever!or vtnznever

Guaranteed pass using one of them but it'll cost ya a good 800bux. Go down to a book shop and pick up the latest road code for heavy vehicle drivers, it has all the questions they will ask you plus more. Study it and get to know them and you can't go wrong.

1st test is a car licence test followed bt a scratch test invovling ht questions been a while since i did mine so couldve changed its a guareented pass if you go through a training company

I did the theory about 2 weeks ago at VTNZ. There were 35 multi-choice questions, you can only get 2 wrong.
I passed without opening the book, using only the questions on this website - freebie (http://www.drivingtests.co.nz- /roadcode/heavy_vehicle/). The questions at VTNZ were VERY close (except 2 questions. 1 who may require you to take a blood(!) test and 2 something about the weight for class 2 - 3500kg I think).
Training schools are a rip, good if you need full license in a hurry. Will read the book closer to doing the practical, I don't like the idea of driving a truck without a bit more safety instruction.

Just saw that drivingtests.co.nz in the NZV8 Mag - looks like a good option. After you get the theory right, can you, or have you driven a truck!
I still get a chuckle from the fiasco of HT testing in the Army. We spent 3 days in a classroom learning the theory, and got to drive a crash box Bedford 100 yards down the road and back again. When it came to the practical, there were a lot of gears getting rounded off. One guy even backed into a pole! I was lucky to have learnt to drive in crash box trucks so the cop told me to pull over after 1 block, and said ". marvelous, go back" I asked if he was getting some roughies and he just shook his head and said "You're not kidding".

is it hard to get a class 2! no its not. have you seen some of the idiots driving trucks now! cant be hard then can it.
