Is a good car. Was looking at getting it 18 months ago. Was a bit rough back then but see hes done some more body work and re painted it looks good now.
Goes bloody well. Rips up 100kph in around the 5 second mark. Sadly hasnt got good gearing, can start from stop in second very easily and 1st is basically redundant. And at 4500ish rpm in top gear its only doing 140kph. Also fuel tank is about 25 litre from memory which only lasts around 150-200km.
Same owner from when i looked at it 18 months ago.
Bloody small car, im average build 6 foot tall and he would be similar and our shoulders were touching the whole time

I recon it would bebetter with a V6 engine from a fwd, like a camery or windom, and use the toyota trans

It's not my cup of tea either.

that was for sale on here about a year ago.looks like fun dare i say it but a rotary would be perfect for it.higher revving to suit the gearing and lighter.Rotary to VW transaxle adapters are pretty common.

similar to the quad cam V8 in the s-cargo on here recently (also a vid of it on you tube at a burnout comp). Saw it when I bought some parts off the guy out the back of Waiuku

Didn't realise a mid mounted engine goes in the back.

mid mounted simply means "between the axle centers".so technically if you fitted an sr20 to a 240Z it would be mid mounted.
