You'll be looking at more than a thousand bucks minimum.

- Remove head lining
- Measure and cut roof
- Fit and secure bracket
- Seat sunroof
- Cut and replace (if you're lucky) headlining

It may require certification these days (!) if so, there's a cost to that as well.

Make sure you have deep pockets, could always save money and use a angle grinder then get a rain jacket for wet days.

Honestly dont waste your money, people just dont do it anymore as most of them eventually leak and devalue your car, the aircon in the BAs is excellent so I cant see why anyone would want to put one in.

Id really advice against it too. They are expensive(ish) can be done badly and often considered a bad thing when re-selling.

That's the best explanation.

If you were able to put in a sliding roof I doubt you would get change out of $3000.00. Plus it will require major hoodlining work as most are moulded, an a sunroof would intrude at least 50 to 75mm into the cabin, reducing head space. Shitty idea. Doesn't add value, gets used about 3 times, then never used as it is to noisy when open. You would need with a slide shade as well so you don't sun burn your head. Plus the car gets super hot inside on a sunny day if you don't have the shade. Cheaper to shag him once a week for a month and he will forget about it. *S*

I inquired about putting in a sunroof in my car. The panel beaters said they could do it but urged me against it. It's a lot of work, and unless you can trust the panel beater 100 % that he will not F**K it up, don't risk it. You have to get the sunroof hood liner, run cables to the switches, drill holes then cut your roof open. Next get a XR8 sunroof attached to a bit of roof and weld that to the hole you've cut. You have to spot weld or go from side to side as too much heat will warp the roof. Sand and smooth it, rust kill it, primer, and paint it. Thats a lot of work and probably not all of it too.
