told that the right hand side axle damper has broken. Anyway, the guy told me to have someone remove it and then come back and get my warrant. I went to a mechanic I go to and he said he could get the part but may take a few days. I then told him what the VTNZ guy had said. He said he could remove it but is going to look at getting one for me. If it is on the car and I failed the warrant because of it you would think that I would just be passed if I seem to not need it. Any thoughts!

might be like extra lights and non essential items etc. Not a fail if theyre not there, but if they are there, they must work.

What vehicle and what part exactly is being referred to here!Sounds a bit weird, a suspension part is there for a reason, if its knackered it needs replacing, if its removed you are modifying it from its original state. Needs to be explained a bit further.

I don't know the parts on a car very well but I was advised it is from the area where the gear box comes out and connects with the right wheel axle. That's all I can say.

What year, make and model of car! Tell us EXACTLY what is written on the WoF sheet under reasons for rejection.
I was once told by an inspector (at a VTNZ) to take a (uncert) rollbar off an MX5 because it failed the WOF (attached to belt towers).
Then he went on to tell me that once I'd done that and got the WOF that I should put the bar back on and in future bring the car for a WOF with the hood up so the rollbar isn't obvious.
Probably should have just got it cert'd, I think the seat belt mounts were a hell of a lot stronger with the (braced) rollbar in place than with the WOF-passing bits of steel plate I put in place when the rollbar wasn't attached.

You got it bad,my last wof for my bike was done via VTNZ as open Saturdays, and my bike shop closed and couldn't get in during the week, anyway the guy is a bike rider, did all checks except the brakes, wtf I thought, although a 07 model,I suspect he saw me stop inside the building so gave the bike a tick.
