FINALLY

gilligan2, Mar 27, 1:01pm
Listed my bike for sale. I can tell already its going to be one of those sales where I'll think back down the track and wonder why I got rid of it.

What cars or bikes have you sold then wished you hadn't years after!

Another one for me was my old sti Ra. it only had 75,000kms and I let it go for 6500.

i had a '58 plymouth before the movie Christine came along. after the movie came out i was inundated with offers to sell. one day silly money weakened my grasp & she was gone. i see that car in shows occassionally. painted some crap colour with chrome mags that don't suit her. damn i wished i still owned that car.

Why did you get rid of the zx14!

Job redundentcy unfortunatly.Awsome bike it was.

I have ridden a 12 but it was a bit of a dog and probably wasnt a good comparison.
The zzr1200 is a very good bike though. The 14 was a very easy bike to ride and felt light on the road. It was at home doing 50kph as well as 200plus.
Nice smooth motor and box, headlights that would melt the road lol. very good passanger bike as well. The Hayabusa is also a very good bike but compared to the 14 was ab bit of a tractor, A well sorted and fast tractor mind you. Thats the pre 2009 models. they are a bit viby etc compared to the 14. The faster you went on the Bus the better it felt, it sucked itself to the ground once you really got going. You could actually feel it doing this. Also the Bus wasnt happy in town and really wanted to get going. Not as comfy as the 14 but not to bad either and also a good pillion bike.
If I had to choose again I would go for the 14 as its just a better all round bike and more refined. havent ridden a new Bus So cant comment on them.

Was there much difference in power between the 12 and 14![/quote
The zx12 i rode was just around town and must say it didnt apeal at all. As said it was a pig, or at least i hope it was.
I have had a bit to do with the zzr1200 and it had plenty of power and a very good all round bike. As for power difference well yes there is abit if you go by the HP figures etc. As for seat of the pants power, yes the Bus pulled like a train in any gear.
Bikes are measured in split secounds these days as far as speed times to 100kph and so on but in reallity they havent come that far in 20 years. an older 1100 is prob a secound slower to 100kph than a busa but 30 or 40kph slower in over all speed.
when your talking top speeds its all mostly chest puffing excersise anyway as 300kph isnt alot of use to any one. The main difference between old and new is how they feel at high speeds and suspensions and brakes are (sometimes) better.
The Bus was increadably stable at high speed. They look that way for a reason.
are you looking at either!

what you got!

When I sell this one I'll be moving up to auckland and ill look into getting another RS250. One with the race bits I think. Or maybe a duke 750cc I'd say.

Back on topic, sold my 73 mitsi GTO 3ish years ago, brought it for 3 grand running sold for 3500 not going so not bad there but so wish it was still in the shed going or not, wont be able to afford another in same condition for a very long time

Sold a 36 Ford pickup in original condition all those years ago cause I lost my garage. Every time I see one (and they are few and far between) I feel pissed with myself. Never seen it since.

'66 HR Holden, 186 & powerglide, 104,000miles, mint floor, few rust spots around.
'69 Buick Le Sabre, matching numbers, needed panel work, was rebuilding front end with proper brakes, sold cause stuffed back couldn't handle it.
