Spotted in Masterton this afternoon, a crappy purple 4 door MK2 escort with a oil cooler mounted in front of the grill, didnt sound like it had any performance capability, sheesh I didnt know the engine oil got so hot cruising through town perving at the chickies.

Might put one on my car get an old fridge condenser cant afford good braided lines so may use a bit of garden hose wrapped in cooking foil,smack a hole in the radiater mounting panel and poke the hoses in, wont connect them to the engine cool as.

Ha Ha Ha yeah I know the one, the guy works at the engineering shop that does our brake and flywheel machining. I first thought "What is that, looks like a trans cooler!" when I first saw it too.

Wrong. It was a well known thing to be done in Japan in the 70's, along with exhaust pipes that came out at a 45deg angle and were a meter or so long, and gearsticks that almost reached the roof, wheels flares etc. It was called Boso/Garuchan . yes he works at an engine reconditioners, mabe doesnt realise the importance of the oil getting up to a correct opperating temp. shudders take the pill.
