Multipla P plate fail

motorway, Mar 23, 10:44am
I believe the owner was trying to cash in on the Fiat/Abarth connection and has 'ABARF' on his unfortunate choice of conveyance.
(Seen in Parnell)

LMAO, I would love this plate on my Multipla!
I suspect that the owner knew exactly what they were doing when they bought it, genius!

I had the same experience as well, took a diesel Multipla for a drive (wearing disguise of course) and was very impressed with its handling, torque and interior space. As mentioned in an earlier post when I suggested to the wife that we buy her one it was politely suggested that I??

So you have sex with your dog and it cooks tea too!
Pretty good dog.

LOL, still haven't managed to train the bloody mut to get me a beer from the fridge!

*Hook me a tinny* is the appropriate command apparently.

I'd have to have all the windows heavily tinted so no-one could see me to drive one. Consistently rated among the 10 most fugly cars on the road. Then again, beauty is in the eye etc and we all have different tastes. Not for me to judge other's tastes, let everyone be happy.

Bad news there too I am afraid, I looked at getting the windows tinted on our installers one so people couldn't see the work tools. Well with the complex curves on the rear quarters apparently adhesion was not really going to happen.

Good point!

Fiat used to have a bad name for reliability, but I owned a couple way back in the '70s and they never once failed me, nor cost me extra money. In both cases they produced a ride grin for me with (for the day) excellent handling. They were an 850 (903cc) fastback and a 124 (1400cc) Sports Coupe. When I owned them I loved them. When I traded them in, they were apparently worthless. Thus is the fate for many Euro cars in NZ. I also had a Renault that had the most comfortable seats ever, but trying to sell it was a real mission.

I havn't had every Fiat but I find the reliability stigma a funny one. The 127's, 850's, Uno's, Panda's and Punto's etc are phenomenally reliable in terms of engine/gearbox. They had the brains to use big valves and electric fans in their front wheel drives amongst other things that put them way ahead of what BMC were doing and in my opinion slightly ahead of the Japanese.

If I was to criticise Fiats of old it would be for rust, I know many cars of the era had problems but before Galvanising became mandatory around 1990 it was what spoiled them.

BTW, believe it or not I have a factory campervan that uses the Fiat 850 running gear!
It actually goes surprisingly well but its a scary thought that when geared for the camper the wee 830cc (in the van version) is doing about 5500rpm cruising on the open road in top gear.

It used to worry me a lot but after cruising the country in it over 10 years including both islands it seems perfectly fine. and hardly even uses any oil!

was it white with a black bonnet and 4 spoke alloys!

i always thought that the abarth scorpion logo was the coolest car logo out there.(even better than lambo)
