109e block is a 3 main bearing ,so depending what crank & rods are in it could be 1200cc = 113e on crank & rods, 1340 = 109e on crank & rods ,1500 blocks are 5 main bearing .

Had onein my youth.put a 1300 escort xflow and box into it .used to watch the speedo bounce back from 90.lol.it sounded like a train inside doing 60 on the motorway.Hit the kerb once and it went on 2 wheels.lolmanaged to get it down without hitting anything .good little car .until some plonker backing out of a driveway took it out.

109e is 1100cc the113e is the 1200cc just put a 1600 cortina motor in it you will find it will bolt up to existing gearbox and go like stink

Maybe but NOPE, not from factory 1100 / 1300 & 1600 are ALL crossflow engines = escort/ later cortina 1200 /1340& 1500 are non crossflow = late 100E prefect/ 105E anglia /early consul capri & some early cortina's
105E angria came out with 997cc engines, later upgraded to1198cc. Consul 315's had 1340 cc engine, all 3 were basically the same block different cranks(3mains).
