I want a copy of what the rules are for tint to put on the wall beside the tint we sell. Thanks!

hmm, interesting. People who have vans and wagons come in and are confident they are allowed darker tints in the back. I thought not.

According to that guide you need a cert for lowering springs. Surely that isnt right

"or vehicles of classes other than MA, but including stretched limousines and body transfer vehicles, any glazing to the rear of the driver's seat may have a VLT of any level providing the vehicle has an external rear view mirror fitted "

0% counts lol

bjdw, Mar 21, 10:02pm
But most cars are classed as MA and can only have 35% max allround! Or is I wrong!

bjdw, Mar 21, 10:05pm
Case : Tourist buys a Hiace and puts a matress in the back to sleep in, wants to put dark tints in the back for privacy. Not acceptable because it is classed MA and can only have 35% tints.

Cars are MA yes, Vans utes and things that could be considered commercial are not. Only argument I could see for cars is a hearse or something weird like that.

pollymay, Mar 21, 10:08pm
Van is MB, if you look you can put pretty much anything over the rear windows. Even advertising stuff which would potentially block all light.

Station Wagon!

pollymay, Mar 21, 10:19pm
Debatable, like I said a hearse might get by but a station wagon hmmm. Depends how good a rack they have as to getting off a ticket or through WOF I guess

heres the arguement from what ive been told is the law, based on the ma and mb stuff

toyota caldina, station wagon, white, 4wd, - 35% max allowed
toyota surf, station wagon, white, 4wd - 0%/ whatever you like apart from front

whats the difference between these vehicles from a safety of tint perspective!
