Yeah agreed.

Make sure you use a 9 dollar can of matt finish from the warehouse for that authentic ricer look.

No idea why people do it, its one thing when you have a massive bonnet that you can see, but the sort of person that does it normally sits so low, and hondas are so short that you never see the bonnet.

Only time I have ever done it is when I got a new bonnet off here and it was the wrong colour. matt black is better than bright red on a silver car, and when a right colour one comes along, I will buy it and swap it out and sell the now matt black one probably for more than the silver one costs ;)

Because a fitted carbon-fiber bonnet costs about fifty times the price and why pay for function when you can just cheat using paint.

In saying that, black painted bonnets (pre CF) originally were to reduce sun glare and paid homage to american fighter aircraft of the second world war.

These days it all about the rice though - like you say, you can't see down the bonnet of a modern car. Something to do with a design that wont kill retards who step out onto a crossing without looking first.

Vinyl.

ginga4lyfe, Mar 20, 7:02pm
Do you have ANY idea how much vinyl costs! that stuff is almost as expensive as a Pro re painting the bonnet!

gunhand, Mar 20, 7:10pm
I thought he meant use an old vinyl record lol, which possably could work but might abit thick. Removal of badges was after all the OPs question.
Me, I use a craft knife blade or metal bog spreader.

If you were in Nelson you could just park it in Emano St or Montgomery Carpark for a few minutes. When you returned the badge would have been conveniently removed, free of charge.
