Chinese ones go up and down while European go left to right and Arab go right to left

And Korean ones go in circles.

No, but I wish I did. Something I'd like to get into one day.

Yes. But tiptronics are just basic autos with a 2 stage switch allowing you to change gears yourself.

mugenb20b, Jan 28, 1:37pm
I would assume so.

Pass. Sorry, can't really help.

hi mugenb20b
lol a @ some of the replies.
the only auto i ever rebuilt was out of a land crab. a 4 speed thingy, and hey it performed well.
i have just finished an article on how to rebuild a ford ( 4 cyl ) C4 so it can easy handle 500 pony's
there's nothing really fancy about autoboxes, if you've got mechanical nouse and don't relie on o/h manuels, easy peasie.
all these newer autos are just your basic a/trany but the hydraulic pressures and gear shifting is controlled by sensors, actuators ( fancy variable flow soliniods ) and an ecu
i recon you could make a small fortune if you got cleaver at these thingys.

Google 'peugeot service box' It is a website that has all the drivers manuals for the different models. Some peugeot forums have a password so you can access workshop manuals, spec sheets etc. etc from that site. It seems thatthe tiptronic was prone to faults.

I have kind of done a 3 speed Borg Warner. A very basic unit. The problems with rebuilding autos for me are: I need a manual, I can't go without one, as you need to know the specs for some things. I also need some special service tools, I love SSTs, and hate butchering / fudging things. And lastly, I need a super clean workshop space with ventilation dedicated to A/Ts. Then you have a problem that no one wants to spend $1500 on a $2000 car.
