im looking at buying a car on trade me going to view it today.
buy now is $4500 and start price is $3000 there dosent seem to be a reserve so if i bid say $3100 will it have to sell or can they choose whether to or not. bit confused

if theres no reserve, $3000 is the bottom dollar it will go for. unless they withdrawl

ok thank you

Buy now means exactly that, if somebody wants to buy the car at that price, then they can do so right then and there without waiting for the auction to run its course. Once bid on however, the buy now can no longer been used as the auction has "started" as such and must run till the end. Unless it gets withdrawn.

thats not right,if its $3000 start then thats not the reserve and its not the bottom dollar it will sell for, its just a start price.

If it has a little yellow flag showing next to the $3000, then the reserve is $3000, and the first bid will own it unless someone outbids you.

he said it was $3000 with no reserve, so assuming he doesnt get outbid, then that is bottom dollar. unless something else is arranged privately

hate to be picky, but he/she said "there dosent seem to be a reserve "

doesnt read as being no reserve to me. more the opposite in fact

once a bid is within 15% of the sellers reserve this will show on auction
