Road noise ------------ can slightly misaligned wheels increase this!

Roof bars ----------- Can they increase this as well ! btw do they also increase fuel consumption when not in use, and you are driving 750 k a week highway speeds

Thanks

1, unlikely unless it squeals lol fuelconsumption yes higher and tyre worn out.
2,roof bars that run along the roof and are fitted by manufacturer make no noise unless there is something not factory on them no more. Roof bars running across will mostly make noises at higher speed

Not appreciably unless out by a LOT. Most road noise comes from the tread pattern.

Depends what you mean by 'roof bars'.

cross bars (that fit across existing roof rails) make noise, as do roof racks. you can dampen them and yes, the car is less aerodynamic so fuel consumption goes up. More noticeable on long runs setting at 100km, not around town.

Tyres often become noisier as they wear. this can be especially noticable with 4x4 tyres. My Mud terrains for example, absolutely howl on the road now that they are half worn

Yokohama had a bad run on a pattern, 1/2 worn sounded like wheel bearings gone, I think is was the 510 pattern.

roof racks across the roof make a racket on my car (Cefiro Wagon) - they were cheap square profile bars, and make a lot of noise anything from around 60ks upwards.I just take them off when I don't need them :-)

yes mine are the square profile ones across roofThule brand

Absolutely, they will increase fuel consumption.

Compare it to jogging with no load, and then holding a piece of cardboard over your head and jogging.

No and maybe if the car was upside down.

well worth the extra investment for whisp bars

not so much for the fuel economy but for the sanity on long trips
