Just wondering if anyone was going or thinking of going this year, as it is Mount Panarama's 50th anniversary of racing. I've just paid the deposit for a package tour, so just show up and enjoy the weekend. Package trip is 5 days/4 nights, return flights, return transfers to Bathurst, accommodation with breakfasts, grandstand ticket for 3 days. Should be a hell weekend with the lads!

I see AirNZ have a package on here for $2450 and Harvey Travel have a package for $1400 with out air fares. Like to go but gotta weigh up if its worth that much.

I dissagree. there are that many huge TV screens scattered around the track showing the TV coverage (without the adds), you get to see even more than on telly. Plus there is a whole lot that goes on there that never gets shown on telly.

You won't regret it, my mates park their stage truck up on Holden Skyline at Mcphillamy Park for the week, it's awesome to be woken up at 8am in the morning to the roar of the cars tearing up the mountain.I had to make a promise when I first went "not allowed to bring ya missus, no women allowed".lol
Going through Air NZ:- http://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/supercheap-auto-bathurst-1000-tour-package Looked into organising my own travel and accommodation but as you say, most accommodation is booked out. Also, looked at the motorhome option, but priced up at $3400 each plus food and piss, so getting expensive and they don't release the campground sopts until May/June.
