Colt was the brand name applied to early Mitsubishis, especially in the export markets. A prime example would be the Colt Galant GTO and the early Colt Lancers until they were badged as Mitsubishi Lancers. In the UK all Mitsubishi models were sold as Colts right up until the mid-80s. The Colt name was revived for the model name of their super-mini but is unrelated to the Colts of the past.
