Mrs & me just finished a wee spin round the block last weekend, caught in the Lewis by cold rain and snow on the tops.no wet weathers so Hanmer was a welcoming defrosting.Kaikoura,Blenhiem-
,Picton round Queen Charlotte back to Mot,a most joyful 753kms.got us biting at the bit for more so Dunners could be a runner.depends on the home front situations.

klrider, Jan 31, 12:32pm

You lucky bugger .lol.now i'm real jealous.working to hard at the moment but will be doing small round the block to The Coast,Ch Ch then home in the next couple weeks .off to French Pass in the Jeep on Thursday though, then Over the hill at Elaine Bay to Tennyson inlet,a real neat little trip

jcwholesale, Jan 31, 5:02pm
Going Picton to Harihari via 63 and Reefton. Harihari to Queenstown, Queenstown to Dunners, for 2 days probably do a day run to Invers, then Dunners to Kaikoira, then back to Welly.

Hi, I sold the blue Austin a55 pickup to that guy!
I thought he was crazy when he said I'll drive it from Auckland to Invercargill ! !
Got a text from him last Thursday saying he made home with no problems,it will be 40yrs old in March .

brokebloke1, Feb 1, 12:40am
I took my harley out last sat went up to Kaikoura, on state h/way 1 then came back thru the inland road, great ride and weather was fantastic.
much better on a bike than in a cage

jono450, Feb 1, 12:51am
i myself took the scoot for a wee ride hamilton to port waikato then from there to taurangaup to opoitkito rotorua then hamilton weather was great gota love it cruzn on the harley.just b4 we get the harleys are sh*t people in here,, unlike you guys that dog our harleys we dont realy care what you ride if the wind is in your face your having a good time regaurdless of what you ride .that is the differance between us HD riders and others that dont ride HDs(just saying) LLRF

i-n-horz, Feb 1, 3:16am
Bloody good chap wasn't he.was very pleased with his purchase too,was pull'n in the admirers as we spoke, bloke and his Mrs pull'd up and were yarn'n for a good 20mins before they both realised they were work mates 20+ years ago.small world.

i-n-horz, Feb 1, 3:23am
Sounds like your block is bigger than mine aye that's why your work'n offrd, to fuel the beast for many more miles.had a bit of a blast to Takaka with the lads and spot'd a tanker or two, waved think'n ya might've been swing'n the wheel there offrd1.

i-n-horz, Feb 1, 3:30am
Awww mate! awesome ride.I'm visualising it on the spot, frozen in front of the screen like I've just had a brain fart.lol.done a similar ride years back with a group of 12+ harmless scallywags best time ever.from what I've remembered.

i-n-horz, Feb 1, 3:33am
Yeah we took the inland right through wasn't to the liking of the Mrs though (still tuning in) but I loved it even while being the shepherd.

i-n-horz, Feb 1, 3:39am
The ol'port road was a goody back in the day, folks had a bach at the port, was almost like a non-looping race track.yeah I'm with ya on that jono450 as long as your out there do'n it doesn't matter what your on big,small,loud,quiet,2 or 3 wheels mate we are a selected breed do'n what we love and that's what counts.

i-n-horz, Feb 1, 3:51am
mmmm.good question klrider, well after talk'n to the chap that now owns the Austin I'd honestly would have to say the HD's but I'm guessing you already knew that didn't you klrider!.you cheeky little whipper snapper you.lol.

Was looking forward to doing Sth Island this year(gsxr750),found out just before xmas have terminal cancer, due to severe weight loss won't be able to ride the island bugger, but going to do West Coast,St Bathans,Crown rd etc on drive to Gore in brothers van with said bike in back.So as brother inheriting said bike I may just go for short ride depending on weather as we tiki tour along lol.Funny thing is bro hadn't ridden a bike for years, jumped on mine to ride it 200km for me,he wasn't too happy with sore back lol,old neck injury from skiing plays up hehe,he reckons he will sell the gixxer for a older type bike, all good by me,and his wife enjoys being pillion,so once he loses a little weight will fit my leathers and cordura gear,so looking forward to trip.Haven't ridden bike since mid Dec either, and don't miss riding(used to commute 400km weekly for work,180km each way from Palmy to Napier on Sun and back Fri for 21 months or so)as much as I thought I would, guess the fact I have accepted my fate has something to do with that.
And sure only a couple of hogs I like, but respect any biker I see,and usually wave to all if possible, even gang members lol, they wave back at times(if alone),and I guarantee any biker on the side of the road is checked if they're ok regardless of the ride, that sums up us bikers.

tantric5, Feb 1, 1:13pm
I saw that ute up in Picton.very noice

berg, Feb 1, 1:17pm
We will head down that way in March for a bit of a tour around. Got friends and family in many places in the South Island so will try and catch up with most of them. Mrs Berg should have her new bike by then so it will be a good chance to get some kms in.

desmodave, Feb 1, 1:30pm
that is the differance between us HD riders and others that dont ride HDs
Yip that makes ya special. What did you ride before you go your HD.Did any1 call cars cages before they started reading easy ridder magazines

jono450, Feb 1, 4:07pm
i have a 999s aswell had it b4 the harley and enjoy riding both andjust got the old bandit back on the road aswell, my mum tells me in special all the time does that count

i-n-horz, Feb 1, 4:59pm
There was a time when hardcore, live to die, bury me ass on an HD,Trump etc riders made like it was impossible to even mention the word 'jap' but hey the biker has changed over generations and understands what the true meaning is of motorcycling, how you felt it was with you since birth, that it's just as much an elixir of life than the blood that courses through your veins.
The ideals need to change and they have done, almost all but a minority of staunch old boys or their wannabe followers have bought light to the new age biker that finds happiness,enjoyment,fulfillmen-
t and camaraderie among the like-minded as long as your motorcycling and in the wind nothing else matters.

berg, Feb 1, 5:00pm
Actually, my Harley riding mate took his Aprillia to a HOG meeting one night and got absolutely rubbished. Only reason he took the Aprillia was the HD was broken. Hardly riders do seem to scof if you are riding something other than a Harley.
Now our Ulysses club, they don't care what you ride just that you ride.

sifty, Feb 1, 5:01pm
careful horz, sounding a bit like a hippy there.

i-n-horz, Feb 1, 5:18pm
Jezzus fordfan62 sorry to hear of your circumstance.not nice at all, you've accepted your fate and doing what you long to do,on'ya mate.
We lost a friend not so long ago and it got me thinking and looking, something I had found seemed to sound legit and as you know keeping it simple is sometimes the best option.
Check this out if you like, you may think it's all BS.I have heard that THC manages chemo side effects really well so maybe there is some truth to it.who knows.
Hope you have a great trip fordfan62 and I wish you all the best mate.

Yeah we have a BMW, Kawasaki, Suzuki sometimes and even a guy on a 250 Hyosung on our rides we really don't care. Just have fun.
