Sad news

socram, Feb 3, 5:30pm
Those who know of my previous partnership involvement in a motorsport related business (I left April 2010) will be as saddened as I am to hear that our top person on the shop floor since we acquired the business in 2000, suffered a massive heart attack yesterday morning and passed away today.

Without her tremendous loyalty, expertise and sheer hard work we'd never have survived as a business. We are all totally devastated.

Condolences to her partner and family.

Guys, just live whilst you can, because you never know how much longer you have got.

My condolences. You are allowed to post a name.

intrade, Feb 3, 5:36pm
Yes you do have some factors in your hand however. Like drinking and eating sugar free poison or msg spiked food and to much alcohol. these factors you can choose as to how hard you want to damage your body.
Sorry for the loss and condolence .

socram, Feb 3, 5:42pm
Sorry guys, I won't post the name as I am not sure that all the family have been informed.

Intrade - it is no guarantee of survival which is my point.I am not the only one on here who could tell a tale or two of those who have been bowled over well before their time and who led to all intents and purposes, a pretty sensible lifestyle and good diet.

My mate died of a heart attack last week. He was only 26 and one ripped bugger. Fit as, huge arms. Ate healthy and worked his ass off in the gym. Absoulutely gutted!

Thanks - and for all the other posts. Although I no longer have a physical, legal or financial connection with the company, it still hurts, as you never forget the fantastic staff who made the company what it is. It is a small team but a fantastic team.Very multiracial - and all the better for it.

Keeling over at 55, you have probably been cheated, but as others have said, you must do what is on your bucket list whilst you can, so for the next two years at least, we'll be doing what we started doing did last year - travelling.

Condolences Socram, I feel for your loss. At the end of the day, it is the people who make a business what it is. Without them it is just a name, so no surprise you are feeling a loss there.

Jason18, I feel for you too. Some people just run themselves out of heart beats (or weren't issued with enough).

Yup. Had a mate who fell off the side of the mountain a few years back. He lived every day to it's fullest, in case it was his last. Ya just never know.

My condolences too socram. When I was banking many years ago we used to joke that we spent more awake time together than we did with our partners (which was true).

I have just got back tonight from hanging out with a close friend who used to work for me and was the glue that held my business together.

I would be devastated to suddenly lose such a friend. Good on you for taking what good you can from the situation (using it as a reminder to get the most from life).

jason18, Feb 4, 12:16pm
Thanks mate, Ya mates always feel like brothers/family. Sorry for your loss too.

Tis alright mate. Lost many friends over the years, and some were really ripped off. Taken too soon etc, but I take a leaf out of each of their books, and I tell you what, I never want to die wondering if I could do something. so i just go out and do it now.

As the death notice is in the paper, it was Gaewyn. Many of the motorsports elite and not so elite, from the worlds of A1 Gp, Aussie & NZ V8s, Speedway, Jet boating, Toyota, Suzuki, Mini series, FF, Targa, Karting, Rallying, Classics and Clubsport people, would have dealt with her, manuy of them in person.

Particular condolences to her hubby Mark, who is going to miss her heaps, as she was his eyes.
