What ceases to amaze me is how people

here can price a car specifically without seeing it's condition and even what the actual specs are. Plus having little or no experience in the motor industry. But carry on and stop people who ask from buying what is probably a good car.
And if they ask what any particular car is like, well that is even funnier, as no one would ever own a car as they are all lemons.
I just look on and laugh, but also feeling a bit sorry for the person asking.

Well, I have to disagree with you. For one, I am in the motor industry and if people ask what a particular car is like, I'll tell them what I know. Most cars have their common faults, and I see no reason why I shouldn't mention them. There are also some very good cars that are getting old, so again, I give my advice what to look out for.

Of course, by then I also feel sorry for the OP (sometimes) as they are probably even more confused than before.

Some subjects I keep out of, like motorbikes, US cars, machines, tractors, panel beating as I know next to nothing about them.

Op-- heck matey you know about "uncle bill'
He knows everything about cars-from hearing of them down the pub.
He "knows" that ALL car dealers make $5000 profit on every car.
he knows that despite your price being lower than anyone else in town that you are negotiable by at least $2000
He knows that the very car they are looking at is a total lemonbut they will take it off your hands if you sell it cheap enough.
Heck mon you know uncle Bill -he might be a guy on the internet or a guy down the road -or that cute girls brother

The great thing about speaking in generalisations is, you can make just about anything sound ridiculous, quite easily.
