Using the public rd for your personal storage yard

Can't believe people get away with this.
Those two Triumph's in pt chev have been sitting there on a main road for over 20 years!
They look rusted out and are far from road worthy, just like the other 4 on his property.
A guy here on the north shore has had his boat and trailer on the main rd (100 metres from a primary school) parked there for over 3 years.
The road becomes a one way as people try and drop their kids off to school.
I'm sure there's council rules against this.
My question is, how do they get away it year after year!

If its on the road un regoed and no warrent ring the council. They will/should deal with it if its been there for some time.

its always amazed me how those Trumpys have been allowed to stay there too. The guy (it's got to be a guy) must live in one of those flats where the other ones are parked. I cycled past in 2011 or 2010 and one Triumph had been hit hard from behind as the front was wrapped around a tree!

not just me that notices the Triumphs then! I wondered about the whole WOF/REG thing.I guess no-one has complained - they aren't really in the way where he(!) lives though.I don't think people should be able to park their boats anywhere on the road or in public laybys and such. Our old neighbour used to park his right outside our house constantly. In the end I started putting my car there every time he moved the boat :-)

If the Council want to be pedantic the Road User Rules have 1 for trailers.

"6.19 Parking trailers on roadway

(1) Except with the written permission of the road controlling authority given for a specified trailer, and in compliance with any conditions imposed by the road controlling authority in giving that permission, a person must not park a trailer on a roadway for a period exceeding 7 days."

Never really understood it.

Just keeping ONE of those up and running is plenty to keep any man busy.
