hi all,going to the v8 supertourers this weekend,got a grandstand ticket,was dwn there couple of weeks ago fr the toyotas,my question is,where is the grandstand,surely that little thing in between the apartments isnt the main grandstand,its not very grand,lol.

Take an umbrella & maybe a light folding chair.Still a great circuit you can move around and go through the pits etc.

I wonder how long it will be before HD suffers from the same greed driven obstruction of views that plague Pukekohe now. One of the great things about HD is the ability to roam at will and choose a spot on an embankment, long may it last. Progress ain't always a good thing.

The initial purchase agreements for the apartments had a clause in it that guaranteed an unobstructed view of the top straight, so there is no way a covered stand could be put in between the apartments and the track. The current open stand between the apartment blocks 2 & 3 is unlikely to be covered, not in the short term anyway. The small stand by the last hairpin is a great place to sit - or sit on the grass. For the McLaren Festival, there was an extra stand inside the other hairpin, but thatwouldn't have made a profit. When the track extension is built, it would be pointless building a stand down there as it will form part of the club circuit and there are plans for private dwellings down there plus "the village" with a bridge over to the inside of the track.(The bridge is already down there.) There are announcements to be made this weekend about future plans, but no idea what they are.
