Are subaru's the most queried vehicle here on the boards, and not for their great reliability. How often do we hear " just bought a sub and it is over. Can I fix it cheaply with my sisters make up kit " or some such comment.

The problem is, a lot of Subarus are turbo charged and there's plenty of old expired ones around. And, as they get older, they should be avoided, especially the twin turbo models. Also, a lot of early 2.5 litre engines give problems and there's also plenty of them around. And yet, some dumb arses keep buying them because they thought they were good value for money until they break.
I like Subarus, but only some models.

ive had 3 subarus a 91 rs type r a 89 rs and a 93 rs t/t all modifed never had 1 problem apart from a set of cvs

I had a 99 turbo b4 a about 5 years ago, I never had problems with it. In saying that it had low kms, and I had regular services done. It chewed through the tires though.
