Cost of exporting a bike from SI to WA

moving to perth in the next few months, id like to take my bike but have no idea of the approximate cost of doing it. advice from anyone whos taken a bike from nz to australia would be appreciated

Have you checked if you can take it without paying lotsa money to them government people.!
Aussie has strict conditions on importing vehicles.

Ring AA Auckland - international division. Doubt you will be able to take it over permanently

ah! the AA. i didnt even think about them. cheers. im trying to decide weather i sell it and buy over there, or store it and buy over there, or take it with me

It has to be shipped by itself (can't be in your container). There are I believe inspection fees, you need to have owned it for at least one year and you will have to pay duty.

I had an older bike I wanted to take to Aussie but it was too much hassle and too expensive to make it worthwhile. Check out what your bike is worth over here and decide for yourself.

There is a possibility WA is even more restrictive than other states.
