Whats the best way to wire in a 12v feed that i can then use to feed some gauges, cb radio etc! Thinking of just running a wire from the battery with a ignition opperated relay/solenoid must be the way! Don't really have any spare wires behid the dash to hook up to. Cheers

Cigarette lighter, clock, radio, heater controls etc will all have either Permanent power, Accessory power .or both. Simply splice into the appropriate wire(s) to get the power you need.

your way is good then the load is on the battery no other circuits as cb's can draw a bit of power then you can run the supply from the relay to a small fuse block and fuse things individualy remember to fuse the supply to the relay with a fusible link or the likes.!
